What a surprise!!

Monday, March 10, 2008 by Lolli Leave a Comment

On Friday night at 9:50, I was sitting at my computer watching Lost and crocheting a blanket when “DING DONG!”….there was someone at my front door. Since I was not expecting anybody, and I was home alone (with 5 kids, of course!) I was a little freaked out. I quietly walked upstairs and peeked out the peep hole. All I saw was the top of a man’s head. I didn’t do anything. Once again, he rang the doorbell. This time I said, “Who is it?” And I heard back, “It’s me!”

Dale came back without telling us! He decided to surprise me. Not quite sure how I feel about that….but it’s GREAT to have him home! Taco and Reese were still awake (I don’t know what’s going on with them!) and were over joyed to see Daddy. The big girls were already asleep, and were very groggy when Dale woke them up to say hi. Actually, Kiwi jumped in fright when she saw a man in her room!

It’s funny that he came home on Friday, because out of the three weeks that he had been gone, that was literally the first day that I had said to myself, “I don’t think I can do this anymore.” Noodle lost her glasses after having them for only 24 hours (we did end up finding them, thank goodness!), Kiwi was home sick for the 4th day that week (Noodle was also home sick for the 2nd day that week), and the doctor referred Kiwi to an ENT at the end of the month to see if she needs her tonsils out (recurring problem). I also found out that my beloved dermatologist of 8 years no longer takes our insurance (this is the 2nd great doctor that has dropped my insurance!). I was supposed to have an appointment on Monday and just happened to call the office with a question….I was ticked that they hadn’t said anything about the insurance before then! Anyway, it was just a bad day, and I was so tired of doing it all alone. Now he’s back, and all is peachy. ;)
PS–the picture of Apple has nothing to do with anything. It just thought it was so cute when he fell asleep in the basement the other day.
