Who’s Your Santa? #jcpSecretSanta

Friday, December 16, 2011 by Lolli Leave a Comment

I’m not a big fan of surprises….for myself. But I love being part of a surprise for someone else. I was so excited to find out that I was chosen to participate in a blogger Secret Santa program with JCPenney.

Yes, I admit that I LOVE shopping for other people. It’s one of my favorite things about the Holidays. I was able to shop on JCPenney.com for a gift for my Secret Santa gift recipient and it’s on the way to her house right now. I can’t wait to reveal who it is (and I’m equally excited to find out who got ME, and what they picked out).

JCPenney is one of my favorite places to shop at the mall, and JCPenney.com was full of great holiday gift ideas. Choosing a gift for my Secret Santa was a piece of cake (especially because the blogger that I was given had a very specific wish list. I just love people who know what they want!).

What is a Santa Tag?

I love this idea….Buy a present for a family member, a friend, or a Secret Santa recipient, scan a special QR code on a free
JCPenney Santa Tag, record a message, and stick the Santa Tag on the gift. When your recipient gets the gift, they scan the QR code and listen to your message.

JCPenney Santa Tags are available for free for any purchase you make at JCPenney, in store or online (tags must be picked up in store, and they are available while supplies last).

My experience with Santa Tags

Not all QR codes are easy to use, but this one worked flawlessly. I scanned the code on my Santa Tag and entered my phone number. I received a call right away and was prompted to record a message (which I did in the car waiting for swim team to be over). Hopefully my secret recipient doesn’t think I sound like too much of a dope on my message…

What if my recipient doesn’t have a smart phone?

If you know someone like my husband who doesn’t have a smart phone with a QR code app, simply call 1-888-881-6577 and use the keypad on your phone to enter the numbers below the QR code. (I was so glad to hear that there was an option!)

Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of jcpenney and received a jcpenney Secret Santa gift and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
