ZUMBA®, Salonpas, and Sleep – Wordless Wednesday

Tuesday, March 27, 2012 by Lolli 27 Comments

I love to dance.

I need to exercise more often.

I love when I can combine something I love with something I need to do. It’s the best of both worlds.

Except in MY world, I have a bad knee. I have to sleep with a pillow under my left knee every night because of pain. My day-to-day activities (minus walking down stairs) are just fine, but dancing – that thing that I love to do – can be tricky.

Tonight, my 3 girls and I exercised with 40 other moms and daughters at a ZUMBA FITNESS® class led by one of my favorite girls ever (I still think of her as a girl, even though she’s all grown up now. She used to be one of my kids’ babysitters many ages ago).

No, I did not turn the camera on our stinky, sweaty selves, but I did take a picture of my knee with my Salonpas pain relieving patch. If the package didn’t specifically say to only use one Salonpas at a time, I would have one in each shoulder, a really big one on my lower back, and one on my big toe.

Sometimes I feel old.

Another funny thing I wanted to share was this letter written by my 6 year old. Smart kid.

letter to dad

OK, that was SO not wordless. Hmmpf!

That letter is too funny! I’m sorry about your knee. I love exercising and dancing but my asthma gets in the way so I kinda know how that feels.

That’s so awesome you joined in on Zumba! I’ve always been intimidated by it, but maybe I’ll have to give it a try as a post-baby workout:) That letter is too cute!

Wish I was more coordinated. It sounds like a fun way to burn some calories. And love that you are doing it with your girls. Sorry about the knee though… Bummer. Aging sucks sometimes.

Oh, dont worry about Zumba….my injury happened a year and a half ago and almost anything I do aggravates it. Even laying down in bed makes it hurt. I was talking with my friend the Zumba instructor and reminded myself that physical therapy might be in order. :)

Yep – I’ve only done Zumba on the wii. Still fun, but not quite the same as a room full of 40 of your friends. :)
