2 Graduations and a Milestone

Tuesday, June 15, 2010 by Lolli 7 Comments

My hope that life would settle down (and slow down) after I got back from the Casual Blogger Conference at the beginning of the month was in vain. Not only have things not slowed down, but they seem to have spiraled into a crazy whirlwind of time-sucking, energy-zapping madness.

But like I keep saying (to myself, mostly) — all of this craziness is good. It’s all good.

In fact, not only did Necco, daughter #2 turn 11 last week, advance in Girl Scouts and receive the highest award in her rank, and graduate from elementary school, but she also gave one of the student speeches at her promotion ceremony. All in the same week.

And then, tonight, we moved on to KitKat, daughter #1, who graduated from middle school. She was among the amazingly (and surprisingly) large group of students from her school who graduated with a GPA of 3.5 or higher (that’s the group below!). I guess you could say that I am kinda proud tonight.

3.5+ GPA

And now for the milestone: AJ is finally (praise the lord and hallelujah!) wearing underwear at night. It finally clicked. I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get to stop buying pull-ups. Glorious as they are, they do add up over the years.

And now, I admit that I am tired. I’m wiped out. Tomorrow is the kids’ last day of school (a half day at that). And then everything changes. Summer officially begins. I am hoping that I can cross off a few more things form my to-do list before the house is full of kids all day. I think a trip to the pool is in order.
