Reese had a birthday this week, and by some streak of birthday luck got to spend the two days before her birthday with her out-of-state cousins. Since the cousins were in town, we decided to cut into the birthday cake a day early and share it with the extended family (and as a side note, the cake was incredible – purple and yellow lemon-vanilla “zebra” cake with homemade buttercream frosting. Oh my!).
So we did the presents, the pictures, the candles, and the cake on Sunday night. Everything was great until late Monday night, after the birthday festivities were all over when I realized that I had not taken a single picture of Reese with anybody BUT her two cousins the day before her birthday. No traditional sibling shot behind the cake, no actual-birthday-day picture of Reese, unless you count the Instagram picture I took before bed with the two of us together.
Sigh. I might just have to bake another cake and take some more pictures.
I don’t think anyone would complain.
Ok, despite my disappointment at not getting anyone else in these birthday shots, I AM pretty happy with the shots that I was able to catch…
