Cecily is Back! PSF – GMYBS

Thursday, January 27, 2011 by Lolli 37 Comments

Today is certainly a day to celebrate. Cecily, my co-host for Photostory Friday, has rebuilt her hacked blog and is back in the blogging business! I missed her terribly while she was gone from this space, and I am so happy that she is back. I’m sure you guys will be happy, too, because Photostory Friday just isn’t the same without Cecily.

Friday morning begins snow day number 3 for us this week. Tuesday was the only day that my kids had school this week, and frankly, we have had enough of each other. I am tired and cranky. I’ve missed two doctor’s appointments, I haven’t had a chance to go shopping for Twizzler’s birthday this weekend, and I can’t seem to keep my house clean when there are so many people here all the time.

I feel like a bad mom admitting that, but this was just a bad week to be stuck inside. I’m worn out emotionally.

Despite my grumpiness and complaining, I did enjoy some time outside with my kids after both storms. (OK….honestly, I shoveled a bunch of snow and then I took pictures of the kids. Scratch the “enjoy” part). Can you tell which pictures came from the first wave of the storm, and which pictures were taken after the second wave?

The most amazing part of the day was the amount of time that Twizzler spent in the snow. He’s typically my kid to stay inside and enjoy the dry warmth. He really got into fort-building today.

Oh I’m glad Cecily is back. We lost a blog two years ago and lost all precious materials from it ;-(

I almost forgot to link this but got it just in time. Glad to join in the fun!

Great photos! We don’t get snow in Texas like that! I’m a little jealous… It was 70 here yesterday though, pretty nice!

Our school gets cancelled for anything. Granted, there are still a bunch of areas around here without power, so I suppose it’s justified. Whatever! :)

The gloomy weather really does effect me. It’s amazing what a little bit of blue sky can do! :)

Exactly! Strangely enough, though, my kids find it enjoyable to clear the snow off the cars. LOL

Your snow pictures are fantastic! I always have such a problem with snow photos.
Like I’ve said before, they don’t cancel school here for anything short of no power. So we just have to slogg through the snow and the freezing temps. Looks like you guys made the best of it and what a great snowman they created!

Great shots! We’ve hardly had any snow this year, which is OK with me. I’m not a huge fan, as you know. Actually, it isn’t so much the snow that bugs me, but the gloomy stinking weather!

these pictures make me miss being a kid! now snow days = cleaning off my car, shoveling, and being too cold to enjoy it! great photos! :)

Yep. Only one day of school for us, too, after a long weekend last weekend, too! My youngest is 5 and in kindergarten….and then I’ve got 4 more. :(

They were so funny about kissing the snowmen. But when my daughter started eating the snowman’s carrot nose, I had to put it to an end. :)

Thanks! I was happy with the pictures, if nothing else. LOL. Today is another snow day, so we’re trying to make the best of it!

Yeah, allergies really do put a damper on Spring, don’t they? Still, I’d take it!

The layout is a photoshop action from https://www.thealbumcafe.com/. I love them!

Snow is only fun when you’re on vacation, I think. It’s annoying when you have to keep kids inside for days on end and break your back shoveling it. :(

  17. Lolli says

Snow days are fun every once in a while but they get old when piled on top of each other. ;)

Thanks! I am so happy that Cecily is back, too. I hate it when bad things happen to good people like her.

Thank you! It was actually a sunny day yesterday, which made the pictures all that much brighter (and snow-play just a little more pleasant). :)

  20. Lolli says

    Friday, January 28, 2011 at 11:13 am

The photo layout is actually really easy (it’s a photoshop action). I love it, when I actually take the time to take my pictures over there….

  21. Lolli says

    Friday, January 28, 2011 at 11:12 am

Yep. We had a long weekend last week, and only one day of school this week, making this practically a 7 day break from school. It’s not like the Summer where you can let the kids play at the park all day.

I am so sick of this weather. My 5 year old, has only had school one day this week. Yes, the snow is pretty, but I’ve seen more than enough this year!

Ahh! Thanks! Our winter has been so easy compared to last year, so I really have no reason to be all grumbly. But it is what it is. ;)

I so hear ya on the snow! We were out of school for an entire week because of it, here. There were many a mom that weren’t too happy by the end. :) Its hard when you feel stuck at home.

I love all your pictures and how you laid them out. So creative. I also love the colors.

More snow? I’m ready for spring to arrive already. Of course, that’ll also mean that my allergies come back…but I need warm weather! Love the photos though and so glad that Cecily is back!

I love your snow pictures and that snowman is a adorable. How beautiful! Looking at your photos makes me miss the snow, but I don’t know if I miss it that much to be stuck inside for 3 days. lol

Those sure are bright for dreary snow days! And, I never imagined I would be able to relate.

PS I’m digging your photo layout. You’ve been busy.

Don’t feel bad! When we had several snow days in a row right around a four and half day break (making it 10 days total) I was about pulling my hair out and really didn’t “enjoy” most of it with my kids either. Unexpected and unplanned time off plus not being able to go anywhere is tough!

I’m feeling grumbly and emotionally spent about the winter too, and we haven’t been stuck inside all week. I’m ready for Spring!!
