Wordful {Best Show Ever} Wednesday

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 by Lolli 42 Comments

I can’t stop talking about the concert I attended last weekend. Four days later, I’m still raving about the show.

I was offered tickets to the Celtic Woman Songs From The Heart Baltimore show. And since my oldest daughter was going to be at a friend’s birthday party and my husband would be busy taking the other kids to the Cub Scout Blue and Gold banquet and our friend’s graduation party, I was compelled to take my good friend, Safire. (She didn’t complain) It was a fabulous girls night out.

When we got to the theater and pulled in the garage to park, I had a mini panic attack. My small travel wallet with my license, debit card, and cash was nowhere to be found. Thank goodness Safire was able to cover the hefty parking fee. I was worried that will call would not give me our tickets without identification….but luckily, the man at the will call window didn’t ask to see it. We were safe.

When we got inside the theater, we asked an usher where we should go for our seats. She took a look at our tickets, and said, “Oh! These are good seats. You’re in the Grand Suites. Up the stairs.”

We felt pretty special walking up the stairs. We were even told that we could use the special Grand Suites coat room, lounge, and bathrooms (which, by the way, WERE nicer than the regular ones BUT I was slightly disappointed that they did not have hand lotion).

We grabbed some ginger ales with lime and headed for our seats. Front row balcony, nearly center stage. An amazing, enjoyable, and extremely comfortable way to spend 2 1/2 hours.

The concert was fantastic. Necco is already begging me to take her to see them “the next time.” Who wouldn’t want to see this:

Since cameras were not allowed during the show, I made sure to take at least one of the two of us, utilizing the bar’s mirror so that we could get the after-show bagpipe player in the background.

When we got back home around midnight, I found my wallet laying in the street outside Safire’s house, where I had parked my car so that we could drive together in Safire’s van. Amazingly, everything was still inside–cash, cards, and all. It was a miracle.

If you’re interested in Celtic Woman’s new CD, be sure to visit my Celtic Woman giveaway post, where I’m not only giving away a Deluxe Edition of the CD, but other Celtic Woman prizes as well!

PS–I’ve added a fun new feature to my sidebar (see “My Favorite Things—->>) and I wanted to encourage everyone to interact with it! I’ve included some of my favorite things–from websites to camera equipment to household items to music. Please take a look and add your opinions on my picks (are they your favorites, too?). PS–This is not an ad or pay-per-click-type widget. I am honestly just sharing the things I like!

Not to knock your faith in humanity….but I’m almost positive that if someone had seen my wallet, it would have been gone. I think the darkness was on my side. ;)

There was a group of older men in the second row, right by the stage who were HUGE fans of the fiddle player. It was so cute. They were dressed up in fan club attire and had their signed pictures in a flip-book. ;)
