My youngest daughter (a sixth grader) was in her middle school’s production of a Seussification of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream this week. My daughter who’s in 10th grade stayed after school at least twice a week for the last month or two to be a stage manager. They both had a blast – and we enjoyed watching their fun Seussified performance last night and tonight.
Here are a couple of shots of the play – Reese was Narrator 1 and had a ton of lines. At least rhyming lines are easier to remember, right?
Guys? I’m exhausted. I swear I say this almost every year, but May might be busier and more hectic than the holidays. The schools plan all of their end of the year performances, awards night, field days, field trips, parties, graduations, and everything else under the sun. Every night seems to be filled with something out of the house. And then swim team has started every day after school and I’ve got back to back birthdays and birthday parties (and Mother’s Day recently passed and Father’s Day coming soon).
And in 3 weeks I head to my sister’s wedding followed shortly by another massive cross country road trip. I’m feeling rushed and excited and stressed and a little panicked that I’ll simply run out of time or energy or both.
So tonight I’m simply grateful that I could escape to a Seussified world of nonsense, forget about work and responsibilities and just be a proud mom for an hour.
Only 2 weeks and 2 days left of school!
What have you been up to this week? Now it’s time for YOU to show me your best shots from this past week. Link up below and have a fantastic weekend!

Sounds very fun to watch! I know that it can be stressful on parents when students have to stay after school everyday to prepare for a school production. I’ve definitely been there.
