Birthday Girl

Tuesday, April 13, 2010 by Lolli 29 Comments

The good news is that I didn’t forget Reese’s birthday.

I just forgot to post any of the pictures.

I know you guys don’t care if or when I post things about my kids, but I would hate to be reading back a few years from now and discover that I completely neglected to record Reese’s 7th birthday.

Seven is a big deal.

And her birthday was quite a fun day. By her request (second year in a row), I picked her up from school and we had lunch at Old Country Buffet. She and AJ love the fact that they can eat as many french fries and cantaloupe as they want and then have dessert.

It really is a kids’ heaven.

I will always remember Reese’s seventh birthday as the Year With No Front Teeth. I’m secretly hoping her front teeth will take a really long time to grow in.
They certainly haven’t budged in the last month.

Apparently, her brothers were the starts of her birthday. By the looks of these pictures, you’d think that they were hunky dory all the time. They’re not. But everyone seems to make special accommodations for birthdays.

I can’t take credit for the Princess Birthday Cake. Big sister KitKat was determined to make her a cake. Though it didn’t turn out quite like she’d expected, it was quite tasty and Reese only “saw” the pink frosting and Princess candies on top.

I also can’t take credit for the last shot. I was insane and handed my camera over to my 4 year old son so that he could catch a shot of me with the birthday girl at Old Country Buffet. It took about 8 tries and at least as many strange looks from the restaurant employees before we caught this one decent picture. And I love it.

Now that looks like a FUN birthday celebration! I’m with you – I’m hoping Princess Nagger’s ‘big teeth’ take a while to come in…she’s 7, but only recently lost the second bottom tooth…those top teeth are still hanging in there! ;)

I LOVE that last shot – priceless! :)
