Smiles for Grandpa

Grandpa Smiles

Despite the fact that two of my children refused to smile for this group picture with Grandpa on Sunday and were sent to their rooms (darn kids ruined a perfectly good photo for posterity) this picture makes me smile. I smile because I can hear the kids playing and laughing with Grandpa. I can picture Reese doing her homework next to Grandpa on the couch. I can remember finding Twizzler and AJ asleep on the couch next to Grandpa’s blow-up mattress, waiting for him to wake up.

I smile when I see this picture because it brings back memories of a happy pre-holiday weekend spent with my dad.

PS–I am participating in the Invisalign Teen Bright Smiles Holiday Photo Contest with Dumb Mom. And WordFul Wednesday. Yo.

Yes, I said YO. Blame it on Dumb Mom.

PS–Wanna see the two grumpy kids?

Please don’t tell them I just showed you that picture. I swear, they have beautiful smiles. They just didn’t feel like showing them on Sunday.

I love the pics that capture a moment and not just the canned smiles. Good job!

I found you from Dumb Mom’s contest… Here’s my entry if you’re interested.

Stopping by from Parenting By Dummies.
These are great photos! Grandpas are the best, right? And I think it’s great that you took a picture of their sour faces, even though they weren’t cooperating.

That first photo is priceless! And the second photo is making me laugh — reminds me of so many sulks in my own life. Ah, well!

Visiting from Hobo Mama and Natural Parents Network!

It’s funny how frustrated you get taking the photo, but when you look back on it, it always makes you smile. Kids have a tendency to do that.

Great photos! Even the grumpy kids. ;-)

LOVE the last photo. Shows what life with kids is really all about. Sorta like the one on my blog today featuring #1 after being jacked in the face by #3! Just part of life. Some days you don’t feel like smiling and some days you just get punched in the face!

I’m sure if you show them this picture they will be more likely to smile next time. I would get it printed out and put it on a frame on the fridge for a few days. It’s always hard with a big family to get every one on the same frame of mind.
Some of my favorite pictures of my kids is when they are all showing their individual personalities before the real picture.

That first photo is so sweet! In fact it makes me miss my grandfather. :( But the one of your 2 unhappy children totally makes me laugh. Only because I’ve got a couple of uncooperative photo takers too!
